Say you have a CD-R, or a DVD+R and you want to label it. You can scrawl something half illegible on a regular CD-R's label like this:

Right now the only major provider of inkless media labelling is called LightScribe, a licenced technology that uses specially coated media to "burn" labels of your own design onto the label side of a disc. This site will show you the tips, tricks and tools to make this labelling easier and more fun.
